Joanot Cortés is a travel enthusiast, filmmaker and documentary instructor, with expertise in camera operations and editing. In 2005, he graduated from the University of Pompeu Fabra with a Degree in Audiovisual Communication. Immediately afterwards, he was commissioned to complete an internship at the Department of Documentary and New Formats in TV3 and in Argos Media Center in Brussels. Since 2006, Joanot has been sole director and coordinator of Kanema Studio, as well as leading collective documentary workshops in Universities, Schools and Art centersaround the world. Joanot has shown his work in national and international festivals, and has been awarded first prize for Best Documentary at Notodofilmfest ’09 with his film Balthasar, andHonourable Mention in Alcances 2011 for Animalism.
